Shelly Beech serves as the KC Plus Leadership coach for UMKC. In addition to her role as a Leadership Coach, Shelly also serves as Associate Professor of Professional Practice PK-12 Educational Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Shelly is an educator with 34 years of experience working in urban schools in the Kansas City area. She has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, assistant principal, principal, Human Resources director, professional development director, and most recently, as a consultant for the Missouri School Wide Positive Behavior Support programs. In each of her roles, Shelly has strived to focus on the whole child, providing strong academic programs as well as a social and emotional support systems for all students. Shelly believes each child is their own unique and special individual who deserves the very best educational experience and support to reach their individual potential. The possibilities should be limitless for all of our children. As school leaders, we must embrace this as our responsibility.
Shelly obtained her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University. She also has an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
