Biography
Research
Dr. Neilson's research focuses on the interplay between gender-based violence (ex. sexual assault, intimate partner violence), substance use, and sexual and reproductive justice. She is foremost interested in understanding mechanisms and developing interventions to prevent the perpetration of substance-involved gender-based violence. She also researches recovery from gender-based violence in the areas of reproductive health and substance use.
