M.A. in Educational Administration: PK-12 Emphasis
Program Overview
This program prepares students for entry-level administrative leadership roles in PK-12 schools with diverse student populations and learning environments.
Curriculum
Students are trained in organizational development, instructional supervision, legal aspects of education and more. Individual projects, group projects, and field experiences allow students to apply theoretical concepts in real life scenarios and settings.

Application Details
Application procedure
1) Complete the online application.
2) Submit the following materials with your online application:
- Official transcripts showing an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Copy of teaching certification
- CV or resume, including evidence of at least three years of teaching experience
- Three letters of recommendation, with one recommendation from the applicant’s direct building supervisor
Application deadlines
Please note that the semesters of admission are different for students looking to complete the UMKC-PLUS program alongside their degree and for those who are looking to complete the degree only (i.e., the “traditional” program).
- Fall 2025 admission (traditional program only): August 8th
- The next UMKC-PLUS cohort will be admitted in Summer 2026.
- All 2026 admission deadlines for both traditional and UMKC-PLUS students will be announced after August 1st.
