Our program is embedded in the philosophies of clinical and counseling psychology, and faculty of both philosophies serve as core faculty of the program. Faculty with expertise in other areas of psychology (e.g., experimental, developmental, cognitive, and social) also support the program and serve as mentors. We believe that this range of faculty knowledge provides depth to our training program and gives students a rich and comprehensive insight into the history, values, and responsibilities of psychologists as well as skills needed to effectively serve individuals in today’s society. Additionally, our unique faculty composition and program's focus provide students with the skills needed to effectively understand, serve, and advocate for individuals with a diverse array of identities.
The Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association since 2004. We had our most recent accreditation visit in 2017 and the program is accredited to 2027 when we will have our next accreditation site visit.
